Impact Network

The Network is built along two paths: a romantasy track, where the project began, and a wider track that brings dystopian, romance, and fantasy authors into the same work.

How it works

Connecting the stories readers love with real-world impact

These stories captivate millions of readers with tales of resilience, resistance, love, and rebuilding broken worlds. Beneath the magic and adventure, these books often explore essential real-world themes: power and governance, trauma and healing, resource scarcity, environmental collapse, and the strength of community.

The two branches of the Impact Network connect authors with nonprofit organizations working on the real-world issues reflected in their stories. Through thoughtfully matched partnerships, we help authors and nonprofits collaborate in ways that engage passionate reader communities and translate themes readers love into meaningful real-world impact.

Our goal is simple: to build a bridge between romantasy and real-world change.

Stories help us imagine better worlds.

Together, we can help build them.

Stories Into Action

Romance, fantasy, sci-fi, and dystopian books and authors

Both paths of the Network do the same kind of work. They connect readers and authors to the causes, organizations, and campaigns doing the real-world version of what the books are about — climate, gender, governance, mental health, justice, and the gap between who has and who has not. What varies between the paths is their audiences and types of campaigns.

The romantasy track works with the authors and organizations that grew out of the project's original community, where the book themes and the partner missions have already been mapped to each other. The dystopian, romance, sci-fi, and fantasy track works with a wider set of authors and additional partners, scaled to the broader genres' larger and more varied readership.
